What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Lead the regulatory legal function, advising on legal, legislative, and policy matters across all jurisdictions.
Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership on the company’s policy agenda and compliance issues.
Oversee the review of regulatory comment letters, legislative initiatives, and policy communications.
Advise on the legal impact of proposed laws and regulations at all government levels.
Mentor and manage a team of legal professionals to foster collaboration and professional growth.
What is Required (Qualifications)
Licensed to practice in at least one state with a minimum of five (5) years of experience.
In-depth knowledge of licensing requirements related to HMO, PPO, TPA, and URA, along with broad legal knowledge.
Proven ability to manage complex issues and build collaborative relationships with regulators and internal partners.
Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership and team development experience in mentoring legal professionals.
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Prior in-house experience for a Medicare Advantage plan is considered an invaluable asset but is not required.
Proven track record of navigating ambiguity and scaling legal processes in a growing organization.
