What To Expect Design novel world‑class products and solutions to deliver high power. Your work bridges engineering challenges with a seamless customer experience, and you’ll contribute to Tesla’s mission of mass‑adopted, conductive vehicle charging.

What You’ll Do

Model and design electro‑mechanical parts and assemblies (plastics, sheet metal, heat sinks, insulation, magnetic components, high‑voltage connectors, fasteners, etc.).

Perform mechanical design analysis, including thermal, CFD, structural, design‑for‑assembly, and design‑for‑test.

Collaborate with program stakeholders to integrate designs into vehicles, energy products, and more.

Solve electronics packaging issues such as isolation, sealing, thermal management, interconnection, shock, vibration, EMI, and RF communications.

Develop engineering test plans and create drawing packages and manufacturing instructions.

Assist in prototype builds and component fabrication, working with manufacturing and production teams.

What You’ll Bring

2+ years of mechanical design experience or demonstrated technical excellence.

Strong fundamentals in mechanical engineering and physics first principles.

Knowledge of GD&T, finite element analysis, and design‑for‑reliability concepts.

Proficiency with CATIA V5/V6, PLM systems, and engineering change processes.

Working knowledge of MATLAB, Python, ANYSYS, StarCCM.

Experience with environmental, reliability, safety, and automotive/industrial standards.

Basic understanding of electrical design fundamentals.

Experience with high‑volume manufacturing and automated assembly (injection molding, stamping, diecast, etc.).

Familiarity with PCBA and PCBA components.

Strong organization, written, and verbal communication skills.
