The Assistant Store Manager is the second in command of the store, responsible for the successful operation and profitability of the store, including training, directing, and monitoring all department staff. Responsibilities

Greet customers and provide world‑class service. Lead and develop store personnel; train staff on customer service and store procedures. Maintain compliance with food safety certifications and company standards. Manage inventory: product ordering, in‑stock levels, markdowns, product mix, and perishables rotation. Report on sales metrics (sales, average ticket, cost of goods sold, EBITDA, S/LOH) and strive to exceed expectations. Assist the Store Manager with hiring, training, performance evaluations, scheduling, and staff communications. Ensure all safety guidelines are followed and that the store is welcoming and organized. Complete daily operational tasks: opening/closing, cash handling, daily schedules, and required reports. Respond to department manager requests and support coverage during lunch and breaks. Adapt to changing priorities and work flexibility as required. Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; 1–2 years of grocery or related retail management experience preferred. Understanding of natural foods industry is a plus. Forklift certification and completion of applicable food safety training. Excellent customer service skills and a sense of urgency. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Cashier trained and able to follow direction and manage multiple priorities. Benefits

Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. constantly, 11–20 lbs. frequently, 21–50 lbs. occasionally, and 51–100 lbs. with a team lift occasionally. Ability to push or pull up to 15 lbs. frequently, 16–100 lbs. occasionally. Occasional computer use and data entry. Constant walking, standing, fine motor manipulation, and reaching required for the shift. Frequent overhead reach. Occasional sitting, squatting, kneeling, and climbing as needed. Environmental Requirements

Work with sharp tools and equipment, dust, fumes, and a congested worksite. Exposure to noise, cold, heat, wet, humid, outside environments, heights, and contact stress.
