Mission St. Patrick Center provides opportunities for self‑sufficiency and dignity to people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Individuals and families build permanent, positive change in their lives through safe and affordable housing, sound mental and physical health, and employment and financial stability.

Working collaboratively with individuals, businesses, government and other service providers, St. Patrick Center will end chronic homelessness in the St. Louis region through Housing First, an evidence‑based practice that tells us to remove barriers, do intake and assessment early, move people into housing and offer them support to achieve their goals.

Job Summary The Facilities Manager is responsible for the vision, performance, communications, and successful management and oversight of the Facilities department at St. Patrick Center and Queen of Peace Center, service lines of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, with additional support at all service lines. The manager supports the growth of Catholic Charities of St. Louis by building, coaching, developing, and managing a team of facility, custodial, safety professionals. The responsibilities include budgeting, managing facilities and custodial functions, engaging with vendors and contractors, minimizing hazards, preparing facilities budgets, monitoring expenditure, designing and planning workstations, coordinating remodeling and refurbishment initiatives, testing equipment, forecasting space needs, ensuring compliance with zoning laws, coordinating relocations, and negotiating lease agreements. Core working hours are Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm. Scheduling flexibility and on‑call rotation sharing is required.

Job Responsibilities

Participate in on‑call rotation schedule with Facilities Lead and Facilities Specialists.

Manage and delegate all maintenance and construction throughout service line properties.

Assist the Sr. Director of Facilities Operations with environmental health, safety and security program for service lines ensuring OSHA general duty and Joint Commission Environment of Care and Life Safety compliance.

Coordinate schedules and special event operations to ensure required facilities preparation.

Review and approve all invoices for utilities, repairs, materials, trash removal, pest control and building‑related expenses.

Manage and inspect work of contractors and vendors.

Identify risks involved in facilities of service lines.

Assist the Sr. Director of Facilities Operations with insurance issues pertaining to vehicles and buildings.

Manage vehicle fleet including maintenance and licensing.

Write and manage job proposals and bids for projects.

Develop, write and manage contracts for services.

Review and follow safety procedures sent by the Archdiocese’s Risk Management Department.

Ensure compliance with city, state and federal requirements.

Support and manage security teams at all service lines.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and/or at least five years of experience in facilities.

A minimum of two years of supervisory experience.

Requires driver’s license (MO residents require a Class E), personal vehicle and auto insurance.

Experience with lease negotiations.

Experience in construction bidding procedures.

Experience with local state, county and city governance.

Skills & Competencies

Proficient with Microsoft Office 365.

Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks, assignments and projects to reports.

Oversee the daily workflow of the department for multiple service lines.

Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.

Handle discipline and termination of ministry in accordance with ministry policy.
