What We’re Looking For
Mid‑Level (4–10 years of related Bridge Design experience)
Senior Level (10+ years of related Bridge Design experience)
At minimum a BS in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET‑accredited college or university
MS in Civil Engineering is preferred
For 4–10 years of experience, be within 6 months of obtaining a valid PE license
For 10+ years of experience, a valid PE is required
What You’ll Do
Apply structural analysis design techniques, tools, and principles
Use computer‑assisted drafting and design software
Employ standard engineering analysis software
Maintain effective working relationships with co‑workers, project managers, supervisors, and other team members
Communicate ideas and information orally and in writing
Review and verify standard structural design calculations
Perform limited structural analysis and design of standard bridge components using general analysis software, client‑specific software, and in‑house programs under guidance from senior engineers
Develop preliminary details using CAD software and provide information to CAD technicians for contract plan development related to design work
Prepare project‑related documents and internal correspondence
Perform and verify quantity take‑offs from contract plans
Review and check basic structural and shop drawings
Provide information for design reports
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including field and construction service assignments

Who We Are The Movable Bridge Unit focuses on the structural, mechanical, and electrical design of movable bridges. Projects include new movable structures, inspections, and rehabilitations of existing bridges. The unit also houses an instrumentation group dedicated to short‑term bridge monitoring. Staff includes structural, electrical, mechanical engineers, and CADD technicians.
