Security Clearance:
Secret; must be a U.S. citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance.
Travel:
Yes, approximately 10% of the time.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage operational aspects of ongoing projects; serve as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
Review project status and budgets; manage schedules and prepare status reports.
Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client‑satisfaction goals.
Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
Interface across all elements and sub‑elements within Support & Training and coordinate with other program and SDS division leaders.
Coordinate with program assignment managers to understand staffing requirements.
Perform planning, monitoring, and controlling of work scope within the assigned program area.
Coordinate schedules and provide liaison assistance between interfacing IPTs.
Coordinate and prepare executive and customer presentations.
Interfacing directly with Control Account Managers (CAMs), Work Package Leads (WPLs), and other stakeholders to collect supplemental information for variance explanations and change rationales.
Ensure IPT compliance with program processes and procedures and implement improvements.
Generate Change Control Board packages and Budget Change Requests in coordination with CAMs and WPLs.
Maintain consistency and high quality of project management work products.
Build and lead project teams.
Basic Qualifications
Principal Project Manager: 5 years with Bachelors (or 3 years with Masters, 1 year with PhD); Senior Principal: 8 years with Bachelors (or 6 years with Masters, 4 years with PhD). Formal degree may be substituted with 4 years of relevant experience.
U.S. citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance at time of application, and completion of investigation within last 6 years.
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within reasonable timeframe.
Experience with requirements development and/or verification planning.
Skilled use of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project).
Working knowledge of Project Management principles.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Solid relationship‑building with technical staff, peers, and customers.
At least five years of experience leading projects or cross‑functional teams.
Experience briefing executive leadership.
Ability to obtain Control Account Manager (CAM) certification.
Strong foundation in EVMS knowledge.
Proficiency in Atlassian tool suite.
Advanced Excel skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Capable of working with minimal direction, independently determining and developing technical objectives, and presenting completed work for high‑level review.
Ability to provide and implement solutions to advanced problems requiring ingenuity and innovation.
Demonstrated decision‑making in uncertain and difficult situations.
Strong oral and written communication, including high‑value customer presentations and handling multiple competing projects.
Experience with CAM responsibilities.
Experience in DoD programs.
Ability to obtain SAP clearance.
Experience working RCCAs.
Experience operating within Six Sigma principles.
PMP certification.

Salary and Compensation Primary Level Salary Range: $81,400.00 – $122,000.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $101,400.00 – $152,200.00
The above salary ranges represent a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and company results. Employees in VP or Director positions may be eligible for long‑term incentives.
