Title: Coordinator III – Elementary Emergent Bilingual Reports to: Director – Elementary Emergent Bilingual PC#: 20656 Pay Grade: 303 # of Days: 219 Salary: $73,781 – $88,892 FLSA Status: Exempt Position Purpose: Grants funded and contingent on available funds. Position Purpose

Under the direction of the Director – Elementary Emergent Bilingual, the Coordinator assists the department in planning, assessment, implementation, curriculum, and coordination of the Emergent Bilingual Program. The Coordinator advances the vision of Learning and Leading in Fort Worth ISD, supports campuses, teachers, principals, and District Service Center staff in implementing a coherent PK‑12 strategy to support all learners with a focus on language acquisition and equity on access to grade level content. The Coordinator ensures that the Learning and Leading Division practices are designed to close achievement and opportunity gaps throughout the District for Emergent Bilingual (EB), Dual Language Education (DLE), English as a Second Language (ESL) learners in order to ensure equity for language learners and provides appropriate support to campuses through department personnel. Essential Job Functions

Curriculum and Campus Support

Designs Spanish and English curriculum, assessments, and supporting instructional materials to ensure language acquisition, student mastery of learning objectives and measurable improvement of academic outcomes for Emergent Bilingual (EB), Dual Language Education (DLE), English as a Second Language (ESL) learners. Provides direct support, including lesson planning and modeling, to classroom teachers and other campus staff who work with and are responsible for language acquisition and mastery by language learners. Coordinates departmental district services and support to campuses. Plans professional learning across the District along with other Learning and Leading personnel regarding language/instructional initiatives. Coordinates effective and efficient assessment systems and data collection processes that provide a record of baseline measures and track longitudinal trends of language learner outcomes. Supports the EB Department and the implementation team to ensure joint planning, joint resource development, and optimal levels of efficiency and coherence in service delivery through maximum coordination and integration of services. Provides guidance, resources, and organizational structure to ensure success of the EB Department initiatives. Assists in communicating the EB Department strategies and objectives to internal and external stakeholders to solicit its support in realizing the mission for internal and/or external audiences. Demonstrates awareness of school-community needs based on needs assessments and initiates activities to meet those needs using appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement. Provides guidance for inclusion of culturally relevant learning opportunities for language learners. Stays abreast of current research and trends in curriculum development and instruction. Project Management

Assists in development of comprehensive project plans to be shared with the Director as well as other staff members. Plans, develops, and coordinates parent and community outreach activities and programs that support improved student learning and academic achievement. Collaborates with service providers, the District and department partners to ensure coordinated, seamless programming for language learners and families at the identified schools. Schedules and forecasts planning for special events that publicize the organization and its language programs to the community. Coordinates joint planning among identified schools, agencies, funders, service providers, and other partners jointly responsible for programs in service delivery systems. Coordinates with cross-functional team members to ensure that all parties are on track to accomplish project requirements in accordance with key deadlines. Assists with the successful analysis and submission of data. Assists with the development and implementation of the campus improvement plans. Communicates with supervisors on a regular basis concerning key issues and current projects. Assists Division leadership with Special Projects and other program development functions. Monitoring and Compliance

Prepares status reports by gathering, analyzing and summarizing relevant information. Facilitates change requests to ensure that all parties are informed of the impacts on the schedule and budget. Monitors progress toward program goals and gathers other significant data relevant to the success of initiatives or programs, when applicable. Meets regularly with the department leadership team and campus leadership staff to analyze and interpret data and to coordinate campus activities. Monitors the development and implementation of effective and efficient EB assessment systems, and data collection processes, that provide a record of baseline measures and tracks longitudinal trends. Monitors federal and state requirements and regulations pertaining to language instructional programs, and professional development. Professional Learning Community

Facilitates and attends professional development and specified training to enhance skills, instructional strategies, and program management. Provides regular updates of program activities and services to appropriate audiences. Collaborates with district departments to coordinate and implement programs that support the special needs of all student populations. Acquires professional knowledge and learns of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research. Safety

Performs preventive maintenance on tools and equipment and ensures equipment is in safe operating condition. Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing; operates tools and equipment according to established safety procedures. Corrects unsafe conditions in the work area and promptly reports any conditions that are not immediately correctable to the supervisor. Minimum Required Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university required; Master’s degree preferred. Certification/License:

Valid Texas Teaching Certification required; Project Management Certificate, Data Analytics Certificate or related credential preferred. Experience:

3–5 years’ combined experience in education or project management, including significant experience working with emergent bilingual students. Language:

Bilingual fluency (English/Spanish oral and written) preferred.
