Wyckoff Heights Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated and talented physician to join our Hospitalist team with the Department of Medicine. We serve a culturally diverse population with a wide spectrum of medical conditions. A Hospitalist is a physician specializing in the comprehensive care of hospitalized patients. They manage patient treatment from admission to discharge, coordinate with specialists, and ensure continuity of care.

Wyckoff Heights Medical Center is a 220‑bed teaching hospital located in a residential neighborhood directly on the border of northern Brooklyn and western Queens. As a Hospitalist Physician, you will play a vital role in providing high‑quality inpatient care at our institution. The Hospitalist will be responsible for managing patient health conditions, coordinating with other healthcare professionals, and providing patient consultations. Our ideal candidate is knowledgeable about internal medicine, can handle acute medical conditions, and has strong expertise in performing a variety of medical procedures. Key Responsibilities

Evaluate patients to assess their medical condition and to establish treatment protocols

Develop and manage treatment plans

Order and interpret diagnostic tests

Perform medical procedures as needed

Coordinate and oversee patient care in the hospital, including specialists and ancillary staff

Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly

Communicate with patients and families about conditions and care plans

Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date medical records

Participate in hospital committees and quality improvement initiatives

Ensure compliance with healthcare laws and hospital policies

Qualifications

Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) or foreign equivalent

Completion of post‑graduate medical training from a U.S. accredited residency program in Internal Medicine.

Board Eligible/Board Certified in Internal Medicine

Must possess active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration or be eligible for registration.

Must possess active Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment or be eligible to enroll.

Excellent communication, bedside manners and organizational skills

Comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft Office

ACLS/BCLS certification

Experience in inpatient care (1–3 years preferred)

Skills and Competencies

Strong clinical decision‑making and diagnostic skills

Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team

Compassionate and patient‑centered approach

Organizational skills to manage multiple patients effectively

Inpatient hospital setting

7 days on/7 days off work schedule

Reports to Chief Hospitalist

We offer an attractive salary, paid malpractice, generous paid time off program, CME days plus allowance, retirement benefits and a competitive benefit package. Compensation ranges from $240K to $260K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits) based upon years of experience. Loan Forgiveness may be eligible through certain state or federal programs. Visa sponsorship may be considered for this position. New grads are welcome to apply.
