Job Description: Working under the direction of a nurse, this clinical staff position contributes to the Hospital’s mission by assisting in preparing rooms and equipment and supporting patient care to ensure a safe, efficient environment. The role emphasizes compassion, empathy, and respect, with a focus on reducing patient harm through proper cleaning and disinfection of equipment and scopes.
Qualifications: Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Completion of a Certified Nurse’s Assistant course or Nursing Student with two clinical rotations
Experience:
Required: Phlebotomy, EKG, or Nursing Assistant
Preferred: ACU or Medical/Surgical experience
Skills and Certifications:
Basic computer skills
Effective communication in English
Preferred: Nursing Assistant Certification
Life Support Certification: BLS required
Additional Requirements:
Ability to respond to changing needs and unanticipated situations
Physical and mental ability to perform duties
Contact with potentially infectious materials and hazardous chemicals
Vaccination against influenza and COVID-19 as per hospital policy
Job Functions:
Assist with patient care, room and equipment prep, and scope reprocessing
Support department-specific tasks in ACU and Endoscopy units
Maintain safety and infection control standards
Physical and Mental Requirements: Must meet the physical and sensory requirements of the role, with proper handling of infectious materials and chemicals.
