Position: Head Crew Coach
Medford Athletics Department is seeking a qualified Head Crew Coach for the high school team. The coach will report to the Director of Athletics and the School Principal, and will be responsible for managing all aspects of the team. Responsibilities
Coach participants in skills necessary for excellence in the sport. Maintain accurate records of team lists, injury reports, game scores, stats, incident reports, and physical examinations. Provide guidance on scholastic achievement, college entrance, and citizenship to team members. Recommend purchases of equipment, supplies, and uniforms. Assist in determining athletes' academic eligibility. Follow rules and policies from the MIAA Handbook and Student Handbook. Ensure safety conditions of the facility are maintained during practices and contests. Attend all practices, contests, and related meetings, including supervision of weight room and locker room areas. Enforce discipline and promote sportsmanship. Develop organized practice plans with warm-up and cool-down procedures. Support the school staff and establish communication channels with community resources. Organize youth clinics and supervise team members during contests. Manage equipment and uniforms, ensuring timely return of items. Coordinate daily schedules with assistant coaches. Assist students with college athletic recruitment efforts. Perform additional duties as deemed necessary by the principal or athletic director. Qualifications
Previous coaching experience preferred. Experience in high school, college, or both is desirable. Knowledge of the sport, rules, and instruction skills. Ability to work well with students, parents, colleagues, and community members. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college preferred. CPR/First Aid Certification. Concussion training/certification. Completion of the MIAA Coaches Education Class or equivalent.
