We value inclusion, partnerships, integrity, and a safe work environment. Job Description We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to support operations for WSBOSC. This role involves safely operating a wide variety of heavy machinery—including cranes, bulldozers, loaders, graders, scrapers, sweepers, and industrial tractors—to excavate, move, and load materials. The operator may also need to read and interpret grade and slope stakes, follow simple plans, and perform minor equipment adjustments or emergency repairs. Typical Duties Operates heavy and light equipment for maintenance and new construction projects such as paving streets, maintaining roads, and clearing weeds. Reads and interprets grade and slope stakes and simple plans. Maintains cleanliness of heavy equipment as scheduled. Participates in routine maintenance. Greases, adjusts, and makes emergency repairs to equipment as needed. Ensures all code and manufacturer requirements are met during installations, repairs, and maintenance. Verifies proper sizing, alignment, support, and grading of installations. Ensures environmental protection requirements are satisfied. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. 3–5 years of experience operating heavy equipment. Ability to read and understand drawings, work plans, and maps. Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Physical Requirements Ability to lift or move up to 70 pounds. Ability to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and perform repetitive motions for several hours. Experience working in confined and outdoor spaces, including climbing vehicles and stairs. Capacity to work effectively under pressure for extended periods. Additional Requirements Valid state driver’s license with ability to obtain and maintain Tessera’s insurance coverage. REAL ID‑compliant driver’s license, U.S. passport, or military ID for federal installation access. Ability to obtain and maintain security clearances; background check and E‑Verify will be conducted.
