Key responsibilities of an order selector:
Picking orders:
Locate and retrieve products from designated warehouse locations according to customer orders using a picking list or warehouse management system. Palletizing:
Stack selected products onto pallets in an organized manner, ensuring proper labeling and quantity. Operating warehouse equipment:
Safely operate powered industrial equipment like pallet jacks, forklifts, or order pickers to access different warehouse levels. Inventory management:
Verify product availability, report stock discrepancies, and assist with cycle counts. Quality control:
Inspect products for damage or defects before packing and report any issues. Packaging and labeling:
Properly package orders, including applying labels with accurate product information and shipping details. Loading and staging:
Move prepared pallets to the loading dock for shipment. Maintaining cleanliness:
Keep work area organized and clean.
Required skills and qualifications:
Physical strength and stamina: Ability to lift heavy boxes and stand for long periods. Attention to detail: Accurate picking and packing of orders is crucial. Basic math skills: Calculating quantities and verifying order accuracy. Ability to read and interpret picking lists and warehouse layouts Forklift operation skills (may be required depending on the role) Good hand-eye coordination Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadline
