Introduction
We are seeking a
Senior IT Specialist – GIS & Test Engineering
to join our growing utility systems team. This role is ideal for a seasoned GIS professional with deep expertise in
ESRI ArcGIS ,
Schneider Electric ArcFM , and
LoadRunner-based performance testing . With a strong focus on system stability and performance optimization, you will help ensure the seamless operation of GIS platforms that are critical to electric and gas utility functions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead design, maintenance, and optimization of ArcMap, ArcFM, ArcGIS Server, and ArcGIS Pro platforms. Develop and execute performance test scripts using LoadRunner in Citrix environments. Collaborate with developers, DBAs, and infrastructure engineers to enhance GIS application reliability. Perform performance tuning at the application, database, and server levels. Troubleshoot GIS issues affecting end-user experience. Engineer custom GIS tools and solutions to support utility workflows. Analyze metrics and logs to derive actionable performance insights. Manage upgrades, patches, and enhancements to GIS platforms. Mentor junior staff and promote best practices in GIS testing and monitoring. Document methodologies, outage recovery procedures, and support workflows.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, GIS, Engineering, or related field. 10+ years in GIS system engineering, ideally within utility sectors. Mastery of ArcFM, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcMap, and ArcGIS Pro. Proficient with LoadRunner or similar tools for performance testing. Skilled in performance tuning for GIS applications and databases ( SQL Server, Oracle). Proven ability to simulate user behavior and engineer performance enhancements. Experience with scripting in Python (ArcPy) for automation and testing. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Background in Agile development environments.
Nice to Have Skills
A/B testing and stress testing methodologies. Experience with Oracle and MySQL administration. Familiarity with Analysis for Office.
