Contract Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy IT Analyst to support our Fortune 500 pharmaceutical client’s lab’s transition to Windows 11. This role will be critical in assessing, documenting, and facilitating the compatibility of hardware devices and software applications used in a R&D lab environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of enterprise IT systems, and hands-on experience with Windows OS migration planning. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct a comprehensive inventory of lab devices and applications to assess Windows 11 compatibility. Analyze current hardware specifications against Windows 11 system requirements; identify upgrades or replacements needed. Evaluate all lab-critical applications for compatibility with Windows 11, including vendor coordination. Develop testing protocols for application functionality on Windows 11 in collaboration with IT and lab teams. Track and document compatibility issues, testing outcomes, and readiness status using appropriate tools and standards. Provide recommendations and timelines for remediation of non-compatible systems. Assist in planning and coordinating pilot testing and phased rollout of Windows 11 in the lab environment. Maintain communication with stakeholders to ensure minimal disruption during the transition. Stay informed of Microsoft updates and best practices regarding Windows 11 compatibility and deployment. Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 2+ years of experience in IT systems analysis or support, preferably in a lab or technical environment. Familiarity with Windows 10 and Windows 11 features, system requirements, and migration paths. Experience with tools like Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune), Configuration Manager (SCCM), or similar. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in application testing and compatibility analysis. Understanding of R&D lab-specific software and device integration. Additional Details:
