Job Description: We are looking for a Sr. Staff Systems Engineer to support the Stand in Attack Weapon (SiAW) Program.
As a member of the Software Test team, you’ll work in a fast-paced environment as the liaison between the Software and Systems functions.
We need a Systems Engineer with a strong embedded software background.
Responsibilities include analyzing, developing requirements and specifications with stakeholders from the software IPT, and managing the system. You will interface and brief the System Engineering IPT lead, Chief Engineers, and Program Management.
This position requires on-site work in Northridge, CA; Baltimore, MD; or Tucson, AZ. No remote/telework options are available.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and coordinate activities across multiple technical teams including Systems, Software, Programmable Logic, and Integration and Test.
Engage in systems engineering tasks such as requirements development, analysis, allocation, system and software design, implementation, testing, and verification.
Keep management informed about project status, challenges, and planning for milestones.
Collaborate with other programs and disciplines to identify design and technical constraints.
Develop test cases for integration testing and identify necessary test assets and equipment.
Understand system architecture development and systems integration requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with at least 14 years of systems engineering experience, including 4 years in requirement/verification; or a Master’s degree with at least 12 years of experience.
Experience in the defense industry.
Technical expertise in missile/weapon system subsystems such as RF, sensors, guidance, navigation, control, telemetry, communication, etc.
Experience with system/subsystem/software/hardware integration, testing, and verification.
Proven ability to solve complex technical problems with innovative solutions.
Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
Active DoD Secret Clearance.
Ability to work independently with long-term technical objectives.
Experience with systems engineering tools like IBM Rationale DOORS, Cameo, Rhapsody.
Understanding of product structure and document hierarchy.
Strong work ethic and ability to work within an IPT environment.
Expertise in Embedded Software.
Ability to interpret technical drawings.
Experience in missile/weapon development or sustainment programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with military aircraft weapons release systems or weapon systems.
Experience in an AS9100 environment.
Familiarity with digital engineering tools such as Agile and JIRA.
