For more information, visitand follow the company on,and.The Software Product Manager is a key role within our Product Development & Product Software team, which is responsible for product strategy and technology implementation across our oncology diagnostic product portfolio. The department comprises both assay and software products, including integration of laboratory systems through digital platforms and bioinformatics infrastructure.As Software Product Manager, you will lead the customer experience and laboratory informatics product portfolio strategy and implementation plan for a franchise vertical, integrating the competitive and technology landscapes, scientific requirements, and business priorities into concrete initiatives with defined outcomes. Together with engineering and laboratory operations teams, you will organize and plan implementation programs for each major initiative, mapping system architecture, integration requirements, and delivery timelines. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to advise on and execute those programs and ensure on-time, on-budget, and on-spec delivery.In this role, you will work at the intersection of software development and engineering, bioinformatics, clinical operations, and user experience as the accountable leader for software initiatives from inception...through execution...to outcome. ****Core Competencies***** Analytical and Data Driven: Measure product performance and adoption with KPIs, metrics, and data, incorporating user feedback to continuously iterate and improve.* Cross-functional Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate alignment across engineering, clinical operations, regulatory, and business stakeholders. Collaborate closely with stakeholders to define business and user requirements, prioritize competing demands, manage trade-offs, and clearly communicate business value and rationale.* Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of software development, APIs, cloud infrastructure, data pipelines and integration, and analytics systems. Partner closely with engineering, design, data, and bioinformatics to build innovative, scalable, and technically sound software products that align with company objectives and goals.* Execution: Guide software product development cycles end-to-end, ensuring timely delivery and quality through SDLC practices.* Strategic Thinking: Define and lead the software product requirements (e.g., Product Requirements Document) within your franchise. Identify emerging software technologies and development trends to inform long-term product franchise vision. Assist technical teams with identifying opportunities to optimize development effort based on patterns and trends.****Essential Qualifications***** Typically requires a university degree and generally 8 years of related experience; 6 years and a Master’s degree; 3 years and a PhD; or PharmD/MD. Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field; advanced degree is a plus.* Experience in software product management, software engineering, or related technical leadership roles, with at least 2 years prior, in a product management role.* Understanding of clinical laboratory workflows* Experience and proven track record of building enterprise software solutions end-to-end, preferably with LIS and/or LIMS (LabVantage or similar) and bioinformatics software.* Deep understanding of software architecture, databases, APIs, cloud platforms, and system design—able to collaborate deeply with engineers and architects.* Exceptional organizational, analytical, and verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to use these to lead complex cross-functional software projects involving engineering, design, and business functions.* Analytical mindset with demonstrated experience in software product analytics and user metrics.* Strong understanding of agile software development methodologies and product management frameworks.* Prior software product management experience at a biotech/pharma/genomics company with clinical laboratory workflows.* Experience in regulated software environments (CAP, CLIA, HIPAA, 21 CFR Part 11, GxP validation)..* Strong understanding of software development practices, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.* Familiarity with programming languages (Python, JavaScript, SQL) and software development tools.**Hybrid Work Model:****This section is applicable to onsite employees who are eligible for hybrid work location as specified by management and related policies.

Guardant has defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. This range does not include benefits or, if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, education, job-related skills, job duties, and business need.Primary Location: Palo Alto, CAPrimary Location Base Pay Range: $157,100 - $216,050Other US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $133,500 - $183,600If the role is performed in Colorado, the pay range for this job is: $141,400 - $194,450*Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment.
