Lead artistic and thematic vision for the ceremony, in collaboration with producer, music director, and script writer to create a cohesive, engaging and inspiring show. Lead work to conceive, create, and finalize all segments of the show/ceremony, in collaboration with producer, music director, and script writer to achieve thematic consistency.

This includes: Opening and closing, Award introductions and presentations, performance elements, transitions, In Memoriam, Tribute Award, sponsor thank yous, etc.

Execute creative planning that aligns with the show budget and deadlines. Coordinate planning, scheduling, and final run-of-show with stage manager. Collaborate with videographer (contractor) and producer to develop videos, as needed. Work with the stage manager to execute a plan for props and costumes, as needed. Coordinate with Theatre Washington to fulfill sponsor benefits. Oversee selection and recruitment of full show team members and talent, including hosts and performers (with approval and support from Theatre Washington, producer, and creative team). The Team The Ceremony Director will work with the Awards event core production team, including: Amy Austin, President & CEO, Theatre Washington Producer Event Director Script Writer Music Director Production Stage Manager Key Meetings & Time Commitments Attend two half-to-full day working sessions in January and February. Attend regular weekly production meetings from February to May. Lead script read-throughs and music and performance rehearsals:

Be on‑site at the event venue day‑of from approximately 8am to the end of the event. Attend the Helen Hayes Awards Nominations event (tentatively scheduled for Monday, February 23, 2026) and other cultivation events, when possible.
