Overview
The JCCA Preventive Services Program seeks a Therapist to provide targeted Child‑Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) for families whose children aged 0‑5 have endured at least one traumatic event and now face mental health, attachment, and behavioral challenges. The CPP model strengthens family attachment, parental empathy, and resilience, breaking cycles of abuse and promoting long‑term stability. Responsibilities
Provide individual, group, and family counseling in compliance with NYS Department of Social Services and NYC Administration for Children’s Services regulations. Conduct regular home visits and assessments of referred families according to program procedure. Maintain documentation of all client, family, and collateral contacts as required by NYS and NYC regulations. Correspond with clients as required by the Family Assessment Service Plan (FASP) and provide all case management services called for in FASP. Attend clinical case conferences, staff meetings, and inter‑agency meetings (including client‑specific meetings at schools, hospitals, ACS, etc.). Participate in planning and implementation of client group activities. Provide program phone coverage during evenings and on the emergency call list. Work 35 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, with flexibility to work between 9 am and 8 pm and occasional weekends as client needs dictate. Qualifications
Master’s in Social Work (MSW), Mental Health Counseling (MHC), or Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) from an accredited school. Knowledge of individual, family, and group therapeutic modalities. Knowledge of the needs of, and identification of, abused and neglected children. Knowledge of child development and individual and family functioning. Demonstrated ability to work with hard‑to‑reach or resistant individuals and families. Excellent writing skills to fulfill state and city regulations for documentation. Ability to collaborate with client and teams that are culturally and professionally diverse. Fluency in Spanish and/or Creole French is HIGHLY preferred. Salary Range
$58,300 – $60,800 + Differential offered for NYS license and/or applicable language skills.
