Child Welfare Preventive Services

provide families with the support, tools, and care they need to stay safely together. Our programs include:

Family Treatment/Rehabilitation (FT/R):

Intensive support for families navigating substance use, domestic violence, mental health challenges, and other complex needs.

Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP):

A trauma-informed, evidence-based treatment model for children ages 0–5 and their caregivers to strengthen attachment and support healing.

Solution-Based Casework (SBC):

A collaborative, strengths-focused approach that empowers families to build safety, stability, and long-term well-being.

Together, these programs create a comprehensive continuum of care aimed at preventing foster care placement and uplifting Brooklyn families.

Position Summary JCCA is seeking a passionate

Outreach Worker

to serve as a community ambassador for our FT/R, CPP, and SBC programs. In this dynamic role, you will connect families and community partners to essential preventive services, build strong local relationships, and support equitable access for those who need it most.

This position requires availability for

evenings and occasional Saturdays

to meet families and engage with community partners.

Key Responsibilities

Represent JCCA’s preventive programs throughout Brooklyn with proactive, relationship-driven outreach.

Build and maintain partnerships with schools, shelters, hospitals, community centers, faith-based institutions, and other community-based organizations.

Conduct targeted outreach—including evening and weekend events—to increase awareness and connect families to services.

Deliver presentations, distribute materials, and meet directly with families to explain program offerings and encourage enrollment.

Share community insights with program leadership to strengthen service planning and outreach strategies.

Track outreach activities, maintain documentation, and prepare reports as needed.

Participate in community events, forums, and resource fairs to enhance program visibility

Qualifications

Associate’s degree required

in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Public Health, or a related field;

Bachelor’s degree preferred

1–2 years of experience

in preventive services, child welfare, community outreach, or human services

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a supportive, nonjudgmental approach to engaging families

Knowledge of Brooklyn’s community landscape and preventive services system

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional Saturdays

Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred

Excellent organizational skills and documentation abilities

Pay Rate:

$30.22 per hour + differential offered for Spanish language skills
