A bit about the role: We're seeking an experienced, strategic, and hands‑on CFO with expertise in private equity, venture capital, angel investing, and/or M&A to join our team. This role is pivotal in providing both executive‑level financial leadership and practical deal expertise to our entrepreneurial clients who are raising capital, considering acquisitions, planning exits, or working with investor stakeholders.
As a CFO, you'll serve as a key member of your clients' executive teams while also leading internal delivery teams to ensure exceptional service delivery. You could be helping a client prepare materials for a Series A raise one minute, and the next, working with an accountant on the team to optimize their financial reporting for investor communications.
Now about you... You're a strategic advisor with investment and deal expertise
You excel at helping entrepreneurial organizations translate their vision into actionable financial strategies that resonate with investors and acquirers. You understand due diligence processes, cap table management, valuation methodologies, and what sophisticated investors expect to see. Your experience allows you to anticipate challenges and opportunities before they arise, particularly regarding fundraising readiness, deal structuring, and post‑transaction integration.
You're adaptable and growth‑focused
You understand that each business has unique needs and challenges, whether they're bootstrapped and profitable or venture‑backed and scaling rapidly. You're skilled at adjusting your approach while maintaining unwavering standards of excellence. You thrive in helping organizations navigate complex financial decisions, from evaluating acquisition targets to preparing for investor presentations to optimizing capital structure.
You have both strategic vision and operational expertise
You can seamlessly transition between high‑level strategic planning and hands‑on problem‑solving. You're equally comfortable developing financial models for investor pitches as you are optimizing unit economics or implementing practical controls that satisfy investor reporting requirements. You understand the importance of both long‑term vision and day‑to‑day execution in scaling businesses.
Core responsibilities: Strategic Leadership
Serve as a member of clients' executive management teams
Develop and implement strategic financial plans aligned with growth and investment objectives
Lead high‑level financial decisions and strategic initiatives
Provide financial coaching to client leadership teams

Coordinate with investment bankers, attorneys, and transaction advisors
Lead post‑transaction integration and performance tracking against investor expectations

Create sophisticated financial models to evaluate business decisions, including investment scenarios and acquisition opportunities
Develop long‑range cash forecasts and capital planning that align with growth and investment timelines
Analyze business performance and identify optimization opportunities for unit economics and scalability
Design and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) that matter to investors and acquirers
Prepare annual operating plans with variance analysis and board‑ready reporting
Operational Financial Management
Lead month‑end closing meetings with clients and internal teams to present financials
Oversee preparation and review of monthly financial statements that meet investor reporting standards
Analyze budget variances and communicate significant issues and opportunities
Prepare cash flow forecasting and strategic recommendations
Serve as proactive liaison with client's professional advisors (CPAs, bankers, attorneys, investors)
Team & Relationship Management
Lead and oversee new client onboarding
Lead and mentor accountants and controllers on your delivery team
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients' stakeholders including board members and investors
Serve as liaison with external partners (investment bankers, private equity firms, venture capitalists, attorneys)
Foster collaborative relationships across all levels
Support business development activities as a subject matter expert in investment and M&A
Investment & Deal Excellence
Ensure financial reporting meets investor and lender requirements
Implement robust controls and systems that satisfy due diligence requirements
Develop and maintain systems for tracking against investment covenants and commitments
