Salary: $350,000-$450,000 per year plus annual bonus potential depending on experience.

Reports To: CEO.

FLSA Classification: Exempt.

OVERVIEW The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a hands‑on executive leader responsible for driving the financial management of a fast‑growing retail company. This role oversees Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Tax, IT, strategy, and budget forecasting, ensuring the organization’s growth, investments, and overall financial health are well supported.

With the company’s entrepreneurial and growth‑focused mindset, the CFO is expected to balance high‑level vision with practical execution. While guiding the finance team and shaping long‑term strategy, the CFO will also roll up their sleeves and contribute directly to the functional work needed to keep a lean, high‑performing team operating at its best.

Main Responsibilities

Lead and manage all aspects of company accounting, including the Finance Team, accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining financial systems, processes, controls, and overall functional integrity.

Evaluate, analyze, and make recommendations pertaining to the company’s strategic plans and performance, active and anticipated investments, resource allocation, and risk management.

Work directly with the CEO and the Leadership Team on planning, execution, critical thinking, innovation, and problem‑solving.

Lead, manage, and guide the professional development of the accounting and finance team members.

Oversee all accounting functions: cash, AR, AP, inventory, and the general ledger.

Produce financial statements and management reports, including monthly fully reconciled accrual accounting statements, profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow, budgets, and projections with variance analysis.

Establish and maintain proper financial controls, internal audits, fraud protection, compliance with tax filings, lender/investor requirements, and other regulatory requirements.

Manage capital and cash flow projections and multiple‑outcome planning.

Provide financial health analysis: margin analysis, ROI calculations, business model optimization.

Develop and maintain leading and lagging indicators, benchmarking, best practices, and other ad‑hoc financial reporting.

Project, plan, and evaluate business investments into new services and partnerships.

Negotiate and provide input for high‑risk/high‑impact financial deals.

Proactively raise issues with financial impact and possible solutions.

Work with Leadership Team on refining budgets for optimal efficiency.

Interface with business professionals, bankers, CPAs, attorneys, vendors, partners, investors, and stakeholders for high‑risk/return issues.

Guide managers in creating, refining, and optimizing sub‑team budgets.

Improve existing systems and establish new systems to drive decision‑making and efficiency.

Communicate financial concepts clearly to all team members.

Guide and direct the Leadership Team to sharpen strategy and steward implementation for sustainable growth and revenue.

Collaborate with Leadership Team to maintain a friendly, sustainable, diversified, collaborative, equitable, inclusive team culture.

Implement corporate financial strategies supporting short‑ and long‑term growth plans.

Prepare quarterly or more frequent forecasts and annual budgets of revenue and expenses.

Enhance systems, controls, and measures supporting the company’s expanding business.

Oversee transaction processing with a focus on margins.

Serve as the company’s financial representative to external constituents including stakeholders, investors, lenders, auditors, and customers.

Manage semi‑monthly cash flow reporting for lenders.

Provide reports on accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory for insights into the company’s financial standing.

Manage the company’s liquidity, debt, assets, investments.

Use data and reports to advise on product development, market expansion, M&A, capital investments, and forecasting.

Skills and Qualifications

At least 15 years of progressive experience in accounting and/or finance functions.

Proven CFO track record within growth‑focused organizations generating revenues of $1B or more.

Minimum 10 years leading or supervising accounting and IT departments.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.

Demonstrated M&A experience within multi‑entity organizations.

Experience working in nationwide, multi‑site operations required.

Professional accreditation such as CPA or CMA required.

Master’s degree in business administration (MBA) preferred.

Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP, FASB, GASB pronouncements and interpretations.

Knowledge of budget preparation and administration; data processing and its application to accounting and MIS.

Extensive experience preparing, justifying, and administering a budget.

Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws.

Experience developing and implementing custom financial and management reporting dashboards.

Start‑up and lean organization experience a plus.

Experience with owner‑operator entrepreneurs a plus.

Flexible to work outside traditional business hours; 24/7 mentality.

Knowledge of organizational planning techniques, staffing, and work standards.

Understanding of budgetary administration and control principles.

Ability to develop, implement, and monitor administrative policies and procedures.

Ability to evaluate program effectiveness.
