Lead, oversee, review, and/or execute structural engineering tasks for substation structural members, including rolled steel shapes, lattice steel framing, and folded plate tubular shapes. Provide detailed design, calculations, and detailing for fabrication or development of loading and concept drawings for submittal to a steel fabricator. Lead, oversee, review, and/or execute foundation design tasks for substation structures (drilled piers, spread footings, driven piles, and related types) using industry-standard software. Support physical substation layout designs, plans, elevations/sections, details, and associated bills of materials. Prepare and/or review construction specifications and material specifications. Assign project tasks and provide technical guidance to project team members. Coordinate and/or perform quality checks and reviews for project deliverables per HDR Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements to deliver a world-class product; perform reviews of projects from other teams when needed. Collaborate with transmission line civil/structural engineers to cross-train and share resources; develop and maintain standards with other engineers. Work independently and mentor, train, and/or supervise one or more Project Engineers, EITs, or CADD/Designers; lead multiple projects concurrently with teams in different locations. Work with senior engineers and technical leaders to identify and develop technical expertise; participate in training and seminars to deepen understanding of complex concepts in the discipline. May assist with developing technical papers or presentations for industry conferences or events. Participate in project reviews as needed; some travel may be required. Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Minimum of 10 years of structural engineering experience related to building design and high voltage substation projects. Professional engineering license (PE or P.Eng) recognized by the licensing board for the position location; licensure in Hawaii and California is a plus. Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, RAM, ETABS, SAFE, and other analytical tools; able to perform design calculations and layouts. Ability to design and detail in steel, concrete, masonry, and wood; understanding of gravity and lateral analysis. Experience in consulting or engineering firms; strong written and verbal communication skills. Commitment to participate in HDR’s employee-owned culture. Preferred / Desired Qualifications

Master’s degree in Structural Engineering. SE license or ability to obtain; SE license in Hawaii and California is a plus. Technical design experience with physical/outdoor design of HV electrical switchyard and substation projects up to 500kV. Familiarity with NESC, NEC, IEEE, ANSI, ASCE-113 and other industry standards. Experience with industry-standard design software such as PLS-Tower, Mathcad Prime, STAAD, RISA, MFAD, L-Pile, or equivalents. Track record of collaboration with diverse teams and project staff; self-starter with strong communication skills. What We Believe & Our Commitment
