Instrumentation & Controls Engineer 1 (Entry‑Level) - Nuclear
Overview Join Sargent & Lundy’s Nuclear Power Group to digitize nuclear power plants. This entry‑level role builds your engineering background while working on multi‑disciplinary instrumentation and controls projects.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with a multi‑disciplinary engineering team on nuclear power plant instrumentation and controls projects.
Work with electronic process sensors, digital controllers, network topology, touchscreen displays, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, steam turbines and reactors.
Prepare specifications for procurement of instrumentation and control equipment and perform engineering calculations.
Increase knowledge and skills through mentoring, classroom‑style technical sessions and on‑the‑job training.
Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant site locations for project coordination and field verification of designs.
Qualifications – Essential Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical with coursework in analog and digital control systems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with MS Office applications.
Valued but Not Required
ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission‑approved program.
Completion of mechatronics coursework.
Prior related internship or co‑op experience.
FE exam successful completion and designation as an Engineer in Training.
