MaineHealth Maine Medical Center's Department of Cardiac Surgery is seeking a congenital cardiac surgeon to join their Division of Congenital Cardiac Surgery in Portland, Maine.
The congenital heart surgery program at Maine Medical Center is over 50 years old and is the only congenital cardiac surgery program in Northern New England. The MaineHealth Congenital Heart Center offers a full range of services in congenital cardiology, including comprehensive catheter-based interventions, electrophysiology, and adult congenital cardiology. The surgical program is supported by pediatric cardiac anesthesia, perfusion, intensive care physicians, and nursing services. The surgeon will work with the Director of Congenital Cardiac Surgery to continue expanding the Division. In addition to pediatric and adult congenital cardiac surgery, the division supports the pediatric ECMO and pediatric airway surgical programs. The candidate will also have an opportunity to work closely with the seven members of the Adult Cardiac Surgery program, which includes Centers of Excellence in Mitral Valve Repair, Aortic Surgery, and Mechanical Circulatory Support.
Position Offers:
Teaching and mentoring residents and medical students from the Maine Medical Center–Tufts University School of Medicine Program.
Academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine.

Qualifications:
Board Certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
Completion of United States Fellowship/specialty training in congenital cardiac surgery.
ABTS certification in Congenital Cardiac Surgery is preferred.
At least five years of experience required.
Experience in neonatal and adult congenital cardiac surgery.
