The Department of Emergency Medicine at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana is a well‑established department that sees 75,000+ visits per year as a tertiary referral center for the larger Ochsner Health System. The department graduated its first class of Emergency Medicine Residents in 2023 and has seen continued rapid growth in the clinical enterprise. The department is currently recruiting for an Academic Faculty position within the Division of Emergency Ultrasound at Ochsner Medical Center Main Campus as we continue to expand. We are seeking physicians who are American Board of Emergency Medicine or American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine certified/eligible, fellowship trained in emergency ultrasound, and have a passion for residency education. We are particularly interested in physicians who have experience in simulation, EMS, ultrasound, quality and patient safety, and operations, as we continue to develop these divisions and roles within our department. The Division of Emergency Ultrasound currently has three EM physicians who have completed an ultrasound fellowship. Our department has five ultrasound machines, conducts billing, utilizes Qpath software for quality assurance, performs nerve blocks, endocavitary ultrasound exams, and manages ultrasound rotations for EM residents. Qualifications
• American Board of Emergency Medicine or American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine certification or eligibility • Fellowship training in emergency ultrasound • Strong commitment to residency education and academic medicine • Experience in simulation, EMS, ultrasound, quality and patient safety, or operations is highly desirable Application & Eligibility
