Business Office Manager – Flagstaff Bone & Joint Surgical Center

Location: 501 N. Switzer Canyon Drive, Flagstaff, AZ. Flagstaff Bone & Joint Surgical Center is an independent, physician‑owned ambulatory surgery center providing orthopedic and minimally invasive procedures. Responsibilities

Supervise and direct all Business Office functions, including patient registration, admitting, scheduling, cash collections, personnel file maintenance, routine payroll, and medical staff credentialing. Oversee all business office personnel and provide administrative support to the facility Administrator and Clinical Director. Ensure effective liaison with Central Billing Office for timely transfer of billing information. Verify insurance coverage and collect co‑payments, coinsurance, and deductibles at time of service. Calculate self‑pay patient quotes in accordance with Center policies. Maintain effective office procedures, supplies, and vendor checks. Evaluate staff performance, conduct performance evaluations, and provide counseling or discipline as needed. Maintain patient confidentiality for medical and financial information in accordance with applicable policies. Participate in loss prevention and safety measures for the office environment. Assist in continuous quality improvement processes. Qualifications

High School Graduate or equivalent with at least three years of experience in medical, hospital or clinic office administration (patient services, scheduling, billing, coding). Proficient in Microsoft Office, typing ≥45 WPM. Strong verbal and written communication skills and telephone etiquette. Knowledge of medical terminology, surgical procedures and ASC reimbursement (Medicare, Worker’s Compensation, third‑party payers). Demonstrated ability to work productively within a team while interacting independently with physicians, patients and staff. Ability to think quickly and solve problems independently. Valid BLS certification; failure to maintain required licenses may lead to disqualification. Previous supervisory experience is preferred. Physical Requirements

Trunk and extremity mobility and strength sufficient to perform job duties. Ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds safely. Must be able to see, hear and speak English. Must be able to sit for long periods. Working Environment

Potential exposure to communicable diseases, contaminated blood and body fluids, hazardous materials, and radiation from fluoroscopy. Position Characteristics

Required Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field preferred. Five years of supervisory experience in a healthcare revenue cycle capacity. Proficiency in accounting and automated accounting systems. Experience with HMO, PPO, Medicare/Medicaid, and other third‑party payers. Demonstrates accountability, integrity, professionalism, innovation, and openness to new ideas.
