Background/Experience Requirements
Minimum three (5) years of nuclear plant experience in Engineering, Maintenance, Projects, or Operations or equivalent military or industrial experience
Minimum three (3) years utilizing project management skills
JOB SUMMARY
This position reports to the Site Projects Manager.
Responsibilities for all associated activities with Engineering, contracting, procurement, installation, start up, closure, and maintaining appropriate project controls throughout the project.
The successful candidate will have authority and be held accountable for developing a project scope, budget, and schedule as well as an implementation plan for completing assigned projects while meeting the project goals.
Education/Experience Preferences
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline strongly preferred.
Electrical or I&C Engineering background strongly preferred.
Commercial Nuclear experience preferred, if not military nuclear or industrial required.
Project Management certification (PMP), or the ability to obtain within 1 year.
Advanced degrees, Professional Engineer (PE) license, and other degrees/certifications will be considered based upon the candidate’s experience.
Previous AP1000 construction, maintenance or operations experience is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Build and sustain relationships across all levels of the organization including executive management and external stakeholders such as the NRC, INPO, etc.
Has a working knowledge of project control techniques, design, work management, and procurement processes.
Focus on understanding the business and leveraging that knowledge to partner with management to identify and monitor strategic, financial, operational and compliance risks, including emerging trends.
The ability to solve problems and make sound judgments, based on experience and proper risk evaluation tools, to provide timely and appropriate resolutions to issues that might impact personnel safety, plant performance, budget, and project execution.
The ability to communicate issues and drive problem resolution through various levels of management.
Ability to effectively interface, build, and sustain relationships with other departments.
Working knowledge of plant operations, design engineering and maintenance practices.
Thorough knowledge of safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
