Opportunity Overview Energy Storage Engineer, level 4 position based in Juno Beach, FL. Remote acceptable but requires 25% travel to the office. Responsibilities include planning, designing, and implementing multiple aspects of energy storage projects, exploring scope, providing engineering oversight, and consulting across teams to deliver an outstanding product.
Your Day-to-Day
Support the design phase and engineer major components for large‑scale energy storage projects.
Recognize inconsistencies in engineering drawings, take corrective action, and work toward better design quality and efficiency.
Prepare technical scopes of work for contracts.
Work with project managers to manage project milestones and recognize risks.
Collaborate with diverse teams, improve opportunities, and integrate systems and controls.
Understand specifications for major equipment purchasing, ensure compliance, and propose solutions.
Understand permitting requirements, propose solutions to legal challenges, and recommend site design improvements.
Travel 25% of the time for project‑specific responsibilities.
Who You Are
15+ years of experience in Solar/PV Engineering or Construction.
Expertise in one or more of: Power electronics, Battery storage system design, Substation design, Generation tie design.
Familiarity with energy storage technologies, including battery chemistries, power conversion units, and DC/DC converters.
Knowledge of lithium‑ion battery storage safety standards (UL1973, UL9540, UL9540A, NFPA 855, NFPA 70E, NEC, applicable IFC/IBC sections).
Familiarity with IEC 61215, 61646, 61730.
