Overview Join Cisco’s Splunk, a Cisco company, as a Site Reliability Engineer – Java. The role focuses on building and maintaining a scalable, cloud-based platform that supports Federated RFAMP environments, ensuring reliability, observability, and performance of core services and applications.

Responsibilities Your Impact

Lead the design and build of the next‑generation cloud offerings, working with technology owners to implement modern SRE practices, observability, Chaos Engineering and DevOps.

Own reliability and resiliency for Splunk Cloud in FedRAMP environments.

Collaborate with tight‑knit engineering teams that deliver state‑of‑the‑art, cloud‑based data processing solutions.

Advise and mentor teams across the platform to adopt SRE principles and improve automation, infrastructure‑as‑code and reliability engineering.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience or interest in regulated computing environments such as FISMA and/or FedRAMP.

Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes (EKS, GKE, or AKS) and associated ecosystems; Kubernetes certifications or intent to obtain them is a plus.

Strong understanding of Linux systems, networking (L2/L3, VLANs, etc.) and file systems.

Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Java, with automation experience on Linux systems.

Capability to identify performance bottlenecks, anomalous system behavior, and resolve root causes of service issues.

Preferred Qualifications

Monitoring experience with Splunk in cloud environments.

Development and deployment experience in AWS, Azure, or GCP with related cloud certifications.

Experience building large‑scale distributed cloud services and scalable software architectures.

Background in distributed systems that run on numerous nodes.

Competitive salary range: $126,500–$182,000 (U.S. and Canada).
