Why Ampirical? Salary Range : $114,679 - Commensurate (dependent on experience, education, and qualifications)
Profit-Sharing Bonus : Semi-annual, performance-based (10% to 20% of salary)

What You’ll Do
Prepares scopes of work and estimates for evaluating and designing substations.
Interfaces with other company functions, clients, and vendors.
Identifies foundation type best used for a given location.
Performs detail foundation analysis-based site-specific loading and soil conditions.
Performs structural analysis based on load and site conditions as needed
Performs detail site analysis for clearing, grading and drainage requirements.
Creates site and civil design packages including grading, drainage, site, foundation plans and details
Mentors new engineers
Performs quality checks for substation site and foundation design packages to ensure industry and customer standards and requirements are met.
What You Bring Education
Bachelor's Degree from an ABET Accredited University in Civil Engineering
PE Certification for the state of Virginia Required to Start
Experience
6-8 years of hands‑on Substation Civil Engineering experience
Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, L‑Pile, RISA, Autodesk Inventor, Bentley MicroStation, and/or Bentley Substation are a plus.
Skills
Experience with structural/foundation loading analysis.
Experience with site design concepts including water flow calculations.
Experience with industry standards.
