This position performs minor to complex maintenance and service as needed to support ongoing facility operations that are initiated through work requests or as dispatched by the engineering control room, call center, or management, in accordance with Hospital standards. Base Pay Range
$58,593.60/yr – $115,003.20/yr Responsibilities
Perform installations, equipment assembly, troubleshooting, and repairs of all plumbing‑related equipment and maintain general building systems and structure. Install and repair domestic water piping, heating water loops, and sewer lines as needed. Un‑clog sinks, commodes, waste hoppers, and drainage lines as directed. Respond to all requests in order of priority and assist with routine‑to‑complex requests on an as‑needed basis. Provide support to Plumber III and manage ordering and procurement of any and all materials needed to carry out job functions. Respond to all hospital emergencies, including but not limited to leaks, odors, and fire alarms. Ensure that repairs and new installations are compliant with current plumbing codes. Report all concerns to the designated specialist or manager. Qualifications
Education : High School Diploma or GED (Required) Experience : 5 years related and responsible experience with the plumbing trade (Required) Skills & Knowledge : Expertise in the area of specialty, strong knowledge of the Plumbing Code, basic algebra, proficiency with PC operating systems and mobile work‑entry devices, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), customer‑service skills, calculator and copy machine usage. Licenses & Certifications : DCRA Journeyman Plumbing License (Required), Valid Driver’s License (Required), Med Gas Certification 1 Year (Required), Back Flow Certification 1 Year (Required) Functional Accountabilities
Conduct safety checks throughout the hospital complex. Repair and replace plumbing fixtures and piping materials (copper, cast, galvanized, polypropylene). Identify material and tool needed to carry out job function; ensure purchase orders and reports are legible, accurate, complete, and on time. Make sure all plumbing work is completed with codes by the governing body having jurisdiction. Establish and ensure compliance with work schedules. Safety & Quality Assurance
Speak up when team members exhibit unsafe behavior or performance. Follow safety measures related to work orders and specific tasks. Identify, diagnose, and resolve trouble tickets/work orders thoroughly until completed. Maintain corrective tickets, PM cards, project sheets, and status board up‑to‑date. Seniority level
