(CFOS) is looking for an

Information Technology Support Specialist

to provide customer service and IT support at our Lena Point facility in Juneau, Alaska. If you enjoy troubleshooting, diagnosing, analyzing, and resolving IT system issues, consider joining our team!

About the Role As our Lena Point Fisheries Facility IT Support Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for users at Lena Point and around the world. You will assist new users with the installation and deployment of operating systems (primarily Windows and OS X) on desktop/laptop computers, perform routine maintenance for current users and Lab systems, and provide technical and training support for distance delivery systems.

To thrive in this role, you must be able to respond promptly to IT support requests, prioritize work, and consult with CFOS IT team members located in Fairbanks. A base knowledge of Google Suite, Zoom, and TeamViewer is vital. The successful applicant will have expertise in routine operating‑system maintenance and the ability to provide technical support for distance delivery systems, Service Desk IT, and Web technical support for CFOS faculty, students, researchers, and staff at all CFOS sites, including traveling users.

Minimum Qualifications

One year of college coursework in Information Technology, a related field, or equivalent training, knowledge, and experience.

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

A valid driver’s license and clean driving record in compliance with the UA Safe Driving criteria.

Position Details This is a UAF position located at the CFOS

Lena Point facility

in Juneau. It is a full‑time, non‑exempt staff position with a competitive salary, full employee benefits package, and a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 76, based on education and experience.
