Job Description
Full-Time (40 hours per week, some weekends required)
Reports to: Campus Pastor
Summary of Dual Role Position
Kids Ministry Director:
This role will direct a comprehensive children’s ministry (birth through 6th grade) to grow children in their walk and understanding of Jesus Christ.
Host Team Director:
This role will administer, coordinate, and support the recruitment, onboarding, and scheduling of host team members. This role will also create, maintain, and improve the experience of Emmanuel guests and host Impact Team members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Kids Ministry Director
Implement a campus ministry plan through collaboration with the Centralized Families Director
Be the face of the ministry
Point families to resources for staying connected
Connect parents to activities and events
Recruit, train, supervise and support an effective, organized, and growing team of Impact Team members
Prepare with, evaluate during, and give feedback after services to large group and classroom Impact Team members
Evaluate every environment through the lens of a first‑time guest and the lens of children and families
Regularly communicate with families and Impact Team members through multiple mediums (face‑to‑face, phone, social media, etc.)
Work with the Centralized Kids Ministry Director to prepare all Kids Ministry environments for weekend services
Ensure that all Emmanuel Church safety and security protocols are consistently followed to provide for the safety of children in the ministry
Participate in the planning, execution and attendance of department and whole‑church events and camps
Under the direction of the Campus Pastor, execute campus‑specific initiatives
Coordinate and support the recruitment, onboarding, and scheduling of childcare workers to support events on campus
Perform other functions and duties as assigned by the Campus Pastor
Host Team Director
Manage Impact Team members assigned to host team for weekend experience
Recruit, train, and onboard new Impact Team members
Schedule, follow up and confirm host team members using church scheduling software
Oversee Impact Team operations during weekend services (Sunday, 8:00am‑1:00pm)
Monitor host Impact Team processes during the weekend service check‑in with host team leaders/members for each service
Stock and set up e‑café space on a weekly basis
Ensure execution of host team campus constants as provided by centralized staff
Other related tasks as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements
Education and Experience
College degree or equivalent experience
At least one year of paid experience in a management/ministry leadership position preferred
Previous paid or volunteer experience in family ministries required
Knowledge and Skills
Excellent interpersonal skills with experience in conflict resolution
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational/administrative skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
Ability to learn and use Emmanuel’s systems (Rock, Planning Center, etc.) and learn and adapt to new technology
Demonstrate ability to work independently and as part of a team in a flexible and cooperative manner, self‑motivated
Demonstrate confidentiality and discretion when handling personal and ministry information
Demonstrate a servant heart with spiritual maturity and sensitivity
Spiritual Requirements
Champion the vision of Emmanuel Church
Foster and promote a healthy staff culture by adhering to the Emmanuel Staff Behavioral Values
Willingness to regularly participate in Emmanuel Church activities and events
Agreement to abide by Emmanuel Church’s Expectations of a Staff Member which include:
Financial support of the church with your tithe
Attend one weekend service each week and monthly staff meetings
Participate in community through small group
Prioritize a Sabbath (one 24‑hour period off work each week)
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands
Required to read, speak, and hear
Occasional need to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus
