Description The Senior Project Manager (SPM) collaborates with UCSD Health executives, physicians, and teams to execute strategic vision and operational priorities. The SPM manages projects from conception through execution and sustainment, solving problems, analyzing data, and making recommendations to achieve organizational goals. The role involves managing short- and long-term projects requiring organization, planning, research, analysis, development, and implementation. Understanding and applying Change Management principles is critical. The SPM collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to execute projects on time and within budget, utilizing project management tools, skills, and methodologies to drive results. Experience with portfolio management, managing multiple projects concurrently, and measuring and communicating impact is strongly preferred. Exceptional presentation and communication skills are essential.

Minimum Qualifications

Seven (7) years of related experience, education/training; OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area plus three (3) years of related experience/training. Experience in healthcare project and/or portfolio management is preferred.

Thorough knowledge of change management processes, methodologies, and applications.

Analytical, problem-solving, project planning, and implementation skills.

Skilled in facilitation, consulting, and relationship building. Ability to coach, facilitate, and influence people.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree or PhD.

PMP certification.

Lean Six Sigma Certification.

Healthcare experience with Lean Six Sigma.

Portfolio Management Experience.

Special Conditions

Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Employment is subject to criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Additional Information Pay Transparency Act: Annual Full Pay Range: $85,400 - $156,800 (prorated if less than 100%). Hourly: $40.90 - $75.10. Compensation factors include experience, skills, education, licensure, certifications, and organizational needs. The posted pay scale is the budgeted salary range.

Employment is contingent upon compliance with UC San Diego’s vaccination policies and other health directives. Life-support certifications (BLS, NRP, ACLS, etc.) require hands-on, in-person assessment.
