We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated MDM Lead with deep functional and technical expertise in Oracle Meter Data Management (MDM). This role is critical to the successful delivery and ongoing operation of our utility’s smart metering ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Oracle MDM, its integration with Oracle Customer Care & Billing (CC&B), and various Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Head-End Systems (HES). The MDM Lead will guide the design, configuration, testing, and deployment of MDM components and will serve as a subject matter expert to stakeholders, ensuring accurate meter data processing, system integrations, and operational performance. Key Responsibilities: Lead the implementation, configuration, and optimization of Oracle Utilities MDM in support of utility operations and smart metering projects. Serve as the primary point of contact for all Oracle MDM functional and technical matters throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate closely with business analysts, system architects, and IT teams to ensure the MDM system integrates effectively with Oracle CC&B, AMI Head-End Systems (e.g., Landis+Gyr, Itron, Sensus), and other enterprise platforms. Guide the client through the Oracle MDM data model, and provide deep functional expertise around: Device Lifecycle Management Meter Read Processing and Uploads Validation, Estimation, and Editing (VEE) Rules Usage Calculation and Exception Handling Design and implement custom or out-of-the-box configurations for meter data validation, estimation, and processing workflows. Support end-to-end testing of meter-to-cash processes, including test case development, UAT coordination, and production cutover planning. Mentor and lead cross-functional teams, including technical developers, testers, and integration specialists. Create and maintain detailed solution documentation, SOPs, functional specs, and system architecture diagrams. Actively participate in project planning, risk identification, and issue resolution with project management and client teams. Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 7+ years of experience working in utility technology domains, with 5+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle Utilities Meter Data Management (MDM). Proven experience configuring and maintaining Oracle MDM’s core functions: Device and Meter Read maintenance Usage Calculation Scalar and Interval data processing Strong integration experience with: Oracle Customer Care & Billing (CC&B) Head-End Systems (HES) from major vendors (e.g., Landis+Gyr, Itron, Sensus, Trilliant) Solid understanding of Oracle Utilities Application Framework (OUAF) and related MDM/CC&B architecture. Experience creating and reviewing technical and functional documentation (requirements, data mappings, interface specs, etc.) Familiarity with SQL, PL/SQL, and data extraction tools for troubleshooting and validation. Demonstrated ability to lead technical workshops and explain complex data models and workflows to clients and stakeholders. Experience working with Agile or hybrid project delivery methodologies. Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing presentation skills. Preferred Qualifications: Oracle certifications in MDM, CC&B, or Oracle Utilities Suite. Experience with Oracle Utilities Analytics or other reporting/visualization tools. Working knowledge of MDMS integrations with SCADA, OMS, or outage management systems. Familiarity with data privacy, cybersecurity, and compliance standards in utility environments. Seniority level
