The Building Engineer position requires MD 1st Class Engineer License or DC 3rd Class Engineer License and a diverse set of skills to effectively manage and maintain industrial facilities. Core skills such as English proficiency, mechanical knowledge, and industrial maintenance experience are essential for daily operations. Premium skills including knowledge of programmable logic controllers, boiler, HVAC systems, and welding electrical, and as needed plumbing techniques will be valuable assets in this role. Additionally, relevant skills such as low-high voltage experience and field service expertise will contribute to successful problem-solving and customer service. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise, hands-on experience, and strong analytical skills to excel in this dynamic environment for overall building and boiler, building automation systems expert. As a Building Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of industrial boilers. Your primary responsibility will be to install, maintain, repair, and inspect boilers and related equipment, ensuring that they meet regulatory standards and function optimally. By utilizing your technical expertise and troubleshooting skills, you will contribute to the smooth operation of boiler systems, minimizing downtime and ensuring the continuous supply of steam or hot water. This role requires strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
Building and Boiler Engineer Responsibilities
Install and commission new boilers, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on boilers and related equipment to identify and address potential issues
Diagnose and repair malfunctions or breakdowns in boiler systems, such as leaks, faulty valves, or pressure irregularities
Management daily building operations systems(BAS, eBas, CMMS, Controls)
Perform regular cleaning and servicing of boilers to remove scale, sediment, and other debris that may affect performance
Monitor and adjust boiler controls, fuel consumption, and water levels to optimize efficiency and minimize energy wastage
Test boiler safety devices, such as pressure switches, relief valves, and flame safeguards, to ensure proper functioning
Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs performed on all boilers in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements
Collaborate and/or supervise maintenance teams/technicians to coordinate repairs and shutdowns, ensuring minimal disruption to operations
Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and advancements in boiler technology to recommend improvements or upgrades to existing systems
Foster a culture of safety by following all relevant
Building Engineer Required Skills
Strong technical knowledge of industrial boiler systems, including operation, maintenance, and repair.
Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting boiler malfunctions, such as leaks, pressure issues, and combustion irregularities.
Familiarity with boiler safety regulations, codes, and standards, such as ASME, NBBI, and OSHA.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications related to boiler systems.
Skilled in using various tools and equipment, such as pressure gauges, multimeters, and combustion analyzers, to perform diagnostics and repairs.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities to quickly identify and resolve boiler-related issues.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing inspections, maintenance tasks, and record-keeping.
Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members, contractors, and vendors.
Physical stamina and the ability to work in confined spaces and at heights, often in hot and noisy environments.
Commitment to safety and adherence to all relevant safety guidelines and protocols.
Required Qualifications
Associate or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field preferred
Minimum of 3 years of strong experience working as a Building Engineer or in a similar role
Valid boiler operator license/certification or the ability to obtain one
Experience in building operations and management of BAS, controls, and mechanical requirements, and standard codes
Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations governing boiler operations
Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and data analysis software tools
Additional relevant certifications are advantageous
Good communications and customer relations
