Responsibilities include: Producing and modifying design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for assigned projects. Consulting with the project manager to perform research, design, and delivery tasks. Applying engineering techniques and design criteria for projects of varying size and complexity. Developing conceptual and detailed designs using current tools and software. Mentoring and reviewing work of junior engineers, providing constructive feedback. Contributing to successful project delivery across diverse projects.
Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Engineering with 6 years of relevant experience, or Masters degree with 5 years of relevant experience, or PhD with 4 years of relevant experience.
Skills and Experience: Understanding impacts of decisions on design and work planning. Effective work planning and design coordination across disciplines. Ability to produce high-quality deliverables on time and within scope and budget.
Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree and 6 years of experience with transportation infrastructure projects. PE certification in MA and RI or ability to obtain within 6 months. Experience with bridge/structure rehabilitation and replacement, especially in the Northeast. Knowledge of applicable design codes and client requirements. Experience with traditional and design-build project delivery methods.
