Business Development Specialist is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and improving STAs business partner relationships by conducting research, interpreting data, and making recommendations based on findings. The Project Specialist will track and record metrics, data, and statistics on STA and partner performance, authorization rates, and partner relations regularly. The Project Specialist is also responsible for obtaining, maintaining, and terminating STA staff electronic medical record access.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelors degree in health-related field, business, or information technology.
  2. Ability to utilize interpersonal communication skills to establish positive relationships with internal and external partners.
  3. Experience with health care applications.
  4. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently.
  5. Prior OPO experience preferred.
  6. EPIC experience strongly preferred.
  7. Strong organizational skills required.
  8. Proficiency in the use of computer equipment and software, including Windows environment (Word, Excel Intermediate to Advanced skills). Strong word processing, database, and presentation software skills. Ability to perform data entry and audit.
  9. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team required.
  10. Excellent communication skills required. Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and to represent the organization publicly.

  12. Ability to cope with high levels of stress and handle a heavy workload.
  13. Ability to travel by light and commercial aircraft or drive personal auto to meet job duties and responsibilities. Current Drivers license required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  1. Exhibits STAs mission to maximize the gift of organ and tissue donation by providing excellent service to internal and external customers.
  2. Performs job functions in alignment with the clarity message.
  3. Follows STA policies, procedures, and standards.
  4. Actively promotes a harmonious work environment.
  5. Demonstrates team building and effective communication skills.
  6. Designs methods and procedures for collecting, monitoring, evaluating, and presenting data trends for all departments within Business Development in collaboration with IT and C.I.
  7. Collaborates with user groups to provide training, assess user needs, and recommend changes while serving as an internal consultant.
  8. Responsible for onboarding new staff to data reporting, EMR program, and ongoing educational opportunities for STA staff.
  9. Organizes and tracks details of STAs electronic medical record access system.
  10. Develops relationships with hospital IT and EMR teams to maximize EMR system utilization to improve the donation process. Collaborates with external clinical resources as needed.
  11. Practices and communicates IT security policies to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected data.
  12. Maintains the highest level of confidentiality of STA employee personal information and EMR data.
  13. Oversees EMR access for STA staff by requesting appropriate levels, maintaining, troubleshooting, and terminating access timely to meet contractual obligations.
  14. Provides advanced support for mobile applications related to EMR access, including installation, configuration, and training.
  15. Provides consistent communication and training to STA staff regarding hospital EMR system changes and updates.
  16. Conducts EMR need assessments and develops tools and materials to assist staff in managing hospital badge and EMR access.
  17. Assists in developing policies and contracts regarding EMR access.
  18. Conducts required and hospital EMR audits in collaboration with Quality Services.
  19. Collaborates with internal and external IT colleagues to ensure timely delivery of solutions to EMR issues.
  20. May need to assist partners after hours, including weekends.
  21. Assists with educational and training documentation using appropriate software.
