Strategy Insights and Planning Associate Consultant
ZS's Strategy Insights and Planning teams partner with clients to design and deliver solutions for a broad range of business challenges. Our teams work on multiple projects simultaneously, leveraging advanced data analytics and problem-solving techniques. Our recommendations are based on rigorous research and analysis, supported by deep expertise and thought leadership.
The Health Plan and Provider (HPP) team within ZS is a growth venture focused on offerings and client segments that align with the ZS missionhelping improve life and how we live it. Operating like a mission-oriented start-up backed by a large global firm, HPP aims to build a payer/provider client ecosystem centered on long-term partnerships, healthcare industry innovation, and unlocking synergies across sectors. What youll do
- Identify the problem statement and break it down into smaller components (e.g., issue / logic tree)
- Own a project workstream (data/content synthesis, insights/findings)
- Develop a storyline / framework for the workstream that is clear and easy to understand
- Work effectively in teamscommunicate, participate, collaborate, motivate
- Leverage problem-solving skills and frameworks to develop solutions for client business problems
- Assist in structuring and conducting market or desk research to derive insights and support client decision-making
- Design custom analyses using tools like Excel, Access, Confirmit, and ZS's proprietary software
- Synthesize and communicate results to clients and ZS teams via oral and written presentations
- Develop and maintain client relationships, especially with Health Insurance/Health Plan clients, serving as a key contact
- Support program management, conduct status updates, and mitigate risks/issues to ensure project goals and deadlines are met
- Enhance problem-solving capabilities and contribute to ZS's growth
- Mentor and support the development of Associates on your projects and teams
What youll bring
- PhD or Masters degree with quantitative coursework in fields like business, economics, marketing, psychology, life sciences, or social sciences. Alternatively, 2-5 years of relevant professional experience post-study.
- At least 2 years of relevant Health Plan experience; a PhD may substitute for work experience.
- Experience with healthcare business processes/analytics is strongly preferred.
- High motivation, strong work ethic, maturity, and initiative.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Empathy, adaptability, and high personal impact.
- Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset.
- Self-discipline in planning and organizing tasks.
- Aptitude for and enjoyment of team leadership.
