As a Produce Associate, you will play a vital role in providing our customers with fresh and high-quality produce. You will be responsible for receiving and preparing products, maintaining an appealing Produce floor, and delivering exceptional customer service aligned with Whole Foods Market (WFM) standards. Key Responsibilities: Maintain a fresh and inviting display by keeping cases and shelves clean, well-stocked, and organized, including front-facing and rotating products. Assist with the display and organization of seasonal and volume items under the Team Leader's guidance. Monitor and manage spoilage, effectively communicating with buyers and supervisors to reduce waste. Complete necessary documentation such as spoilage, sampling, and temperature worksheets. Participate in periodic inventory checks to help maintain stock accuracy. Arrive on time, groomed, and prepared to work, including attending required trainings and meetings. Deliver outstanding customer service by addressing customer needs promptly and effectively, and employing suggestive selling techniques. Maximize sales by following best practices for stocking and merchandising products. Adhere to established procedures for health, sanitation, and safe work practices. Contribute to maintaining a clean working and shopping environment, including equipment care. Perform assigned opening, mid, and closing duties accurately, including sign and pricing verification. Report any safety hazards or violations immediately. Complete other tasks as assigned by store leadership. Required Skills: Ability to proactively engage and sell products. Willingness to learn about produce and its growing processes. Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills. A collaborative team player with effective time management and organization skills. A passion for natural foods and alignment with Whole Foods Market's mission. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a strong work ethic. Experience: No previous retail experience required. Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Standing or walking for 6-8 hours during an 8-hour shift. Frequent hand use, including grasping and fine manipulation. Work involves bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching. Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals and varying temperatures. Ability to work under wet and dry conditions and maintain a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Experience using tools and equipment, including knives and electric pallet jacks. The wage range for this position is $17.00-$25.40 Hourly, based on experience.
