Presales Compute Technology Architect – Telco The Presales Compute Technology Architect – Telco role at Hewlett Packard Enterprise is a Remote/Teleworker position, primarily worked from home.

The Presales Compute Technology Architect – Telco will be responsible for architecting solutions that achieve customer business outcomes within the telecom domain, integrating hardware, software, services, and third‑party components. They develop compelling proposals and ensure that both business and technical customer requirements are met, providing technical expertise to sales teams and customers through presentations and product demonstrations. The role focuses on technical selling and may be aligned to specific accounts based on business priority.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates in-depth knowledge in one or more solution domains, company products, services, and solutions as well as the customer’s technical and business environment.

Develops compelling customer proposals and critically reviews them, managing stakeholder and customer expectations to ensure requirements are met.

Quantifies the impact of business problems, positions business value, and identifies strengths and weaknesses of the overall proposed solution.

Provides input to all global business units to address IT trends, requirements, gaps, or unmet needs.

Translates outcome‑based solutions into functional and technical designs that can scale with growth.

Communicates how solution value propositions address customer business needs.

Tracks leading‑edge and emerging technologies.

Contributes to industry development through conferences, demos, booth support, and monitoring social media.

Incorporates technology and industry trend understanding.

Actively gathers and applies competitive intelligence in account support.

Drives the Account Business Planning process leveraging industry trends and the customer’s technical environment.

Participates in deep‑dive discussions and partners with the account team to build customer relationships and present technical strategies for transformation.

Produces in‑depth comparative analysis of alternative approaches.

Develops, configures, and right‑sizes optimal workload solutions, balancing cost, scope, scale, boundaries, and benefits to increase win rate.

Leverages partner products and services, adjusting strategies to leverage partner relationships.

Transfers knowledge to external partners to deliver effective solutions.

Proactively builds the pipeline by identifying opportunities such as enhancements, unmet needs, upselling, and cross‑selling.

Monitors the account pipeline and nurtures active deals from opportunity to close.

Uses pipeline insights to prioritize activities for highest potential deals.

Actively participates in sales forecast meetings and provides feedback to accelerate the sales lifecycle.

Documents ongoing work throughout the sales cycle, sharing best practices with peers and partners.

Builds strong professional relationships with customer key executives across business and industry.

Proactively shares knowledge with peers and helps develop more junior team members.

Education and Experience

3+ years of experience within the Telco space.

5+ years of technical experience in IT with a focus on technical consulting and solution selling.

Industry certifications preferred.

Enterprise architecture frameworks and project management methodologies and certifications helpful but not required.

First‑level university technical degree or equivalent; advanced degree in technology preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

Advanced experience in solution configuration, demos, and proofs‑of‑concept.

Advanced understanding of HPE’s portfolio, adjacent domains, and how they combine to address customer needs.

Advanced ability to translate SaaS, complete ecosystem, differentiated value, and workloads; prioritize SaaS offerings and consumption models.

Advanced understanding of SaaS business model variations.

Advanced collaboration across functions to achieve strategic goals.

Advanced written and verbal communication, active listening, storytelling; communication in English and local languages.

Advanced persuasion skills to support company point of view.

Advanced business and financial acumen, pipeline growth, reporting, influence, strategic linkage, KPI knowledge, TCO/ROI concepts, financial models.

Advanced consultative/value selling skills, objection handling, closing skills.

Advanced knowledge of partner offerings and how to leverage them.

Advanced knowledge of Geo application of company’s go‑to‑market strategy as it relates to partners.

Advanced strategic planning and account planning skills; expertise in CRM systems.

Compute Presales supporting US Telco Accounts.
