ASAE
Directs the development and administration of content for non-dues educational products, including those produced under revenue share agreements. Responsible for the substantive oversight of the Association’s non-dues educational content, as well as design, development, and delivery of revenue-generating publications. Works with staff and volunteers to direct and oversee quality of education content development and release. Oversees team responsible for CLE and other continuing education operations. Develops draft revenue and expense budgets and manages operations accordingly.
Position Responsibilities
In consultation with the Chief Content Officer, develops draft revenue and expense budgets, and manages operations accordingly. Monitors financial performance and customer satisfaction results.
Advises and consults with Chief Content Officer on strategy, changes, and operational improvements.
Evolves offerings and pursues innovation and efficiency on an on-going basis.
Manages and coaches team members on their performance and professional development.
Manages relationships with and results from working with volunteers and other SMEs.
Identifies topics for development, and in collaboration with internal and external teams, undertakes product design, author recruitment, volunteer management, project management, editorial, and other oversight and operational tasks, with a focus on revenue performance, cost controls, quality of substantive content, and consistency with AHLA’s mission.
Develops long-range acquisition and product development plans.
Manages revenue-share and contractor relationships, including contract negotiation in consultation with the Chief Content Officer as necessary.
Manages team responsible for CLE and other continuing education operations, in collaboration with Senior Director of Education and Senior Director of Conferences.
Provides information and feedback on accuracy and suitability for AHLA target markets of marketing and other materials related to education and collaborates with other departments to ensure overall association success and efficiency.
Education/Experience/Skills
J.D. required.
Ten or more years of experience in legal education or related industry required.
Ability to lead teams as well as participate as a member of multiple teams.
Experience in developing draft revenue and expense budgets and managing operations to that budget.
Knowledge of health care law.
Excellent verbal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate and write effectively and clearly for various audiences, including AHLA’s target markets.
Familiarity with relevant style manuals.
Experience with common office software applications.
Experience in working with volunteer leaders and members.
Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize while working on multiple projects.
Collegial personality and work style that ensures inter- and intradepartmental communication will be open and collaboration will be strong.
Travel required.
