Senior Strategic Operations Program Manager – Investment Products
Mercury is building a complete financial stack for startups. Since launching in 2019, we have grown our customer base to over 200,000 startups and small businesses worldwide. We are expanding our Strategic Operations team to lead mission‑critical, cross‑functional efforts that adapt to meet the highest business demands. This role will report to the Director of Strategic Operations and partner closely with Product, Compliance, Financial Partnerships, Marketing, Customer Support and Relationship Management.
Responsibilities
Own coordination and communication through large, strategic initiatives across our investment products, maintaining clarity on workstreams, progress, blockers and next steps.
Work directly with senior leaders and cross‑functional partners to manage the complexity of new investment initiatives, ensuring all internal, external, and business needs are accounted for.
Ensure investment initiatives track toward full compliance with external partners and federal and state regulators.
Drive swift and thorough responses to incidents, keeping customers and internal teams’ needs top‑of‑mind.
Design and implement business and operational systems and processes to simplify operations and support rigorous decision‑making.
Be an integral part of annual planning, helping to ensure Treasury priorities align with company goals.
Partner with data teams to drive analysis and research that informs strategy to support high‑quality long‑term decisions.
Qualifications
Experience leading strategic projects or programs (e.g., consulting, Product Management, Program Management, Strategic Operations, Chief of Staff).
Deep understanding of broker‑dealers, registered investment advisers, or other investment products, particularly those offered by fintechs.
Familiarity with securities regulators, including FINRA and the SEC.
Exceptional stakeholder management, with ability to communicate and influence across various lines of business and senior‑level stakeholders.
Ability to work independently to identify issues and proactively propose, build and implement solutions from the ground up.
Comfortable working in an ambiguous, fast‑paced environment; knows when to elevate urgent issues and to whom.
Strong organizational skills; builds structure and documentation (Google Sheets, Notion, Linear) to track large initiatives.
Track record of bringing structure and simplicity to complex, ambiguous business problems.
Sense of ownership; approaches new problems with curiosity and first‑principles thinking.
Excellent oral and written communication; strong time‑management skills.
Comfortable operating in a highly‑regulated, rapidly evolving, sometimes ambiguous environment.

Salary Ranges
US – New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, San Francisco Bay Area: $160,900 – $201,100
US – Outside those metros: $144,800 – $181,000
Canada – all locations: CAD 152,100 – 190,000
