Position

The Chief Nursing Officer will oversee all nursing operations at this 25-bed Critical Access Hospital, ensuring that organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory standards are consistently met.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this leader will oversee 11 direct reports.

The Chief Nursing Officer will lead efforts to optimize departmental processes and enhance OR throughput, ensuring efficiency and exceptional patient care.

This leader will mentor and develop nursing staff, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration and they will play a pivotal role in identifying innovative solutions that enable the organization to confidently embrace new initiatives.

Ideal candidates will have a strong clinical and operational background. They should be hands‑on, visible leaders with a positive, collaborative attitude. A dedication to quality and process‑improvement initiatives will be essential.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.

Active RN license required.

Prior leadership experience at a minimum of the Director level, Critical Access Hospital experience, and union experience preferred.

Coquille Valley Hospital is a progressive, community‑focused health district and 25-bed Critical Access Hospital serving a 14,000-resident region in Southwestern Coos County.

The modern replacement facility, opened in 2012, features an on‑site medical office building and a comprehensive outpatient center equipped with advanced technology.

Clinical services include a 7-bed emergency department, medical/surgical care, outpatient surgery, imaging, laboratory, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, Swing Bed services, and home health.

The organization recently completed a successful transition to the Cerner EMR platform, enhancing clinical integration and operational efficiency.

Recognized as “Best of the South Coast” in 2016, the hospital continues to grow and expand services to meet the needs of the Coquille Valley community.
