The LSUHSC Cancer Center is seeking a Research Associate 2 or 3 (RA2/3) to plan, assist and conduct laboratory experiments on the research project "HER3-PHF8 signaling axis in triple‑negative breast cancer (TNBC) progression". The RA2/3 will continue ongoing investigations into the molecular basis of HER3‑driven TNBC progression via PHF8. The selected candidate will assist with experiments involving cell culture, gene expression, cell cycle analysis, western blots, immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunofluorescence (IF), in‑vivo animal studies, and general molecular biology.
The incumbent is expected to manage and perform general day‑to‑day lab operations including daily and routine maintenance of lab equipment and instruments and lab safety inspection and management. They will analyze, summarize, and organize collected data together with the Principal Investigator and draft, edit and revise reports and manuscripts for publication in professional journals. The RA2/3 will also purchase and/or recommend purchase of lab supplies, reagents and new equipment for research projects.
Successful candidates must be able to work with a high degree of self‑motivation and possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and/or within a team. Prior laboratory experience in molecular and cellular biology techniques, animal models, and/or microscopy is highly desirable.
