Responsibilities
Effectively manage a caseload of subrogation claims, providing highest quality claims service and appropriate resolutions in accordance with our claims handling guidelines.
Review claim files to identify, evaluate, and interpret subrogation potential for single and multi‑party claims, coordinate evidence collection, and pursue recovery.
Assist in recovery of overpayments for duplicate coverage claims and pursue, negotiate, and settle subrogation collections.
Assist adjusters in identifying claims involving third parties, coordinate communication, and recommend recovery potential.
Ensure compliance with applicable statutes, regulations, case law, and company standards, optimizing recovery timelines.
Participate in subrogation‑related projects such as process improvements, workflow mapping, trend identification, and training for claims adjusting teams.
Contribute to training and roundtable discussions to improve subrogation knowledge across the organization.
Required Qualifications
Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of workers’ compensation claims adjusting experience (7 years for Senior level); prior subrogation claims management experience preferred.
Certifications: Maintain required educational criteria for managing workers’ compensation claims; California Claims Professionals certification preferred.
Technical skills: Solid knowledge of workers’ compensation claims management, data analytics, Microsoft Office, and claims software systems.
Desired Competencies
Math & Reasoning: Apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to claims solutions.
Language: Read and interpret claim files, write routine reports and correspondence, negotiate and present research.
Critical Thinking: Think critically, adapt quickly, and derive conclusions in a dynamic environment.
