Job Summary The Director of Operations is responsible for working with the executives of the company and facilitating the sales programs and strategic initiatives across all our Wine & Spirits retail stores. This includes sales, purchasing, inventory control, merchandising, vendor relations, staffing, and customer satisfaction. This position will utilize the newly developed category managers and store managers of each location and work with store staff to achieve these goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for maximizing the sales of the Wine & Spirits division with the objective of continuous improvement.
Oversee monthly buy-ins and overall product purchases
Plan and organize monthly meetings at headquarters with distributors, brokers and/or sales reps along with category managers for tastings and to discuss new product selections and discontinued items.
Responsible for the integrity and compliance with in-store pricing strategy.
Prepare formal weekly and monthly recommendations to the executive management for the weekly sales flyer, in-store and TPR promotions, email blasts and any other feature promotions.
Develop and maintain a portfolio of private label and controlled label items.
Provide guidance on product displays at store level.
Oversee staffing and store staff schedules.
Work with store management and store staff to ensure the highest level of customer service.
Communicate effectively and efficiently, as well as maintain clear and open communication with cross-functional teams and vendors.
Foster a collaborative work environment to align competing priorities.
Drive improvements that enhance the overall customer experience.
Monitor team and individual performance, addressing gaps proactively.
Assist in developing ecommerce strategy.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience with multi-unit retail or restaurant and/or experience in Beer, Wine and Spirits.
5+ years' experience leading and developing a team.
Strategic thinking, planning and project management.
Ability to collaborate & communicate effectively.
Be able to work under pressure to achieve a positive outcome.
Customer first attitude.
Ability to motivate others and self-inspire teams to achieve operational excellence through strong leadership.
