This position is eligible for appointment at Step 1, $54,246.40 annually.
We are seeking a Senior Storekeeper for the Sheriff’s Office. Senior Storekeepers are allocated to various departments throughout the County of San Diego. This is the first line supervisory level class in the Storekeeper and Stock Clerk class series. Incumbents work under the general direction of a supervisor or manager and are solely responsible for planning, scheduling, directing, training, reviewing, and evaluating the work of Storekeepers, Stock Clerks, or other support staff assigned to a warehouse or multiple large storerooms of the Sheriff’s Office.
Responsibilities Plan, schedule, direct, train, review, and evaluate the work of storekeepers and stock clerks in the Sheriff’s Office warehouse(s). Ensure proper ordering, receiving, storing, and issuing of supplies, materials, and equipment. Maintain accurate inventory records and coordinate logistics for large storerooms.
Minimum Qualifications
Three (3) years
of store keeping or warehouse experience consisting of ordering, receiving, storing, and issuing supplies, materials, and equipment; or
One (1) year
experience as a Storekeeper with the County of San Diego.
Note: Experience in providing first line or full supervision over employees responsible for performing storekeeping work is highly desirable.
Condition of Employment Prospective candidates will undergo a background check (including fingerprinting) and a pre-employment medical screening prior to beginning County employment. Additional background investigations may be conducted based on the job-related activities of the position. Current County employees may be excluded from this process.
Evaluation Process Qualified candidates will be placed on a six‑month employment list based on scores received during the evaluation of information contained in their employment application and supplemental questionnaire. Ensure all information is complete and accurate as the responses you provide on the supplemental application form will be reviewed using an automated evaluation system.
