Basic Function The Primary Care Physician (MD) serves as a cornerstone of the clinical team, providing comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals and families across the lifespan. This role blends expertise in family and internal medicine with a proactive approach to preventive health, disease management, and wellness education. The physician will assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of medical conditions. Through collaborative care planning, clear communication, and evidence-based practice, the physician ensures continuity of care and contributes to the patient’s overall health outcomes. The clinic serves a diverse patient based encompassing a wide range of identities, life experiences, and health needs. While the predominant patient population is adults, this physician will serve patients of all ages. The clinic accepts all major insurance providers, ensuring broad access to care for patients.

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive primary care services to a diverse patient population; conduct thorough assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for patients across all age groups

Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions with evidence-based protocols

Provide preventive care including screenings, immunizations, patient education, and lifestyle counseling

Collaborate with behavioral health and specialty providers to ensure continuity of care

Refer patients appropriately and follow up on external consultations and diagnostics

Engage in practice-wide initiatives to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency

Monitor and respond to population health metrics and patient satisfaction data

Maintain accurate and timely documentation; uphold HIPAA and ethical standards in all patient interactions

Contribute to clinic development by participating in quality improvement initiatives; collaborate with leadership to refine procedures that enhance patient experience, staff efficiency, and clinical outcomes

5-10 years of clinical experience required, experience in a primary care setting preferred

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) form an accredited institution

Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Med/Peds

Eligibility for medical licensure in VA
