Position Summary The Surgical Technologist in the ASC provides technical hands‑on support to the surgeon and operating room team by handling instruments, supplies and equipment before, during and after surgery.

Location:

Proliance Eastside Surgery Center - Kirkland, WA

Schedule:

3x10s or 4x10s - day shift (no weekends, no call, no nights)

**$5,000 sign‑on bonus!!**

Key Duties and Responsibilities The key duties and responsibilities of the Surgical Technologist include, but are not limited to:

Work with all members of the health care team to provide optimal care to the patient throughout their surgical experience.

Maintain a friendly, positive, and caring attitude with all patients, physicians and staff.

Properly handle the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure.

Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgeon based on requests and patterns.

Constantly monitor for maintenance of the sterile field.

Assist in assuring that the proper supplies, instruments, and equipment are available for the procedure.

Assist in assuring that equipment is functioning properly.

Monitor use of all supplies. Assist with inventory control by proper count of supplies/time used.

Continuing education to meet State requirements and keep current with health care changes.

Display professionalism at work and in the community as a representative of the Center.

Take an active role on committees within the department.

Identify actual and potential risk to patients and others and take action to minimize or eliminate risk and maximize safety.

Education/Experience

Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program

Certified Surgical Technologist preferred

Current State licensure and CPR

Two years of direct experience is desired

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Skill in using a computer

Knowledge of applicable specialties

Ability to remove oneself personally from given situations, remaining objective

Ability to exhibit cooperation, flexibility, and provide assistance when interfacing with patients, physician and staff

Ability to multi-task

Skill in organizing and reporting information that is accurate and complete

Understanding of the need for and evidence of consistent respect for confidentiality/HIPAA

Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations

Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all staff

Ability to communicate clearly

Consistency and timeliness in attendance

Work Environment/Physical Demands The work environment/physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a teammate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work may be performed in an office and clinical environment. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear. The associate is required to sit for long periods of time, stand and walk, bend and stretch. Use of telephone and computer is required. Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 pounds. May require working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
